Associate/Senior Associate – Competition, Regulatory & Risk (Sydney)

About the role

We are seeking an Associate or junior Senior Associate to join a well‑regarded competition and disputes practice in Sydney. You will work within a supportive, collaborative team, gaining exposure to both front‑end and back‑end competition and consumer matters while receiving mentorship from senior practitioners.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and assist on a range of competition and consumer law matters.
• Draft pleadings, affidavits, applications and other court documents.
• Brief and liaise with counsel.
• Conduct legal research and provide clear, concise advice.
• Support senior lawyers on complex matters and client deliverables.
• Maintain and build strong client relationships.

Required profile

• 3–8 years post‑qualification experience with relevant competition law exposure (litigation experience also considered).
• Strong drafting and technical legal abilities.
• Experience across litigation processes and court procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
• Proactive, team‑oriented approach with a strong work ethic.
