Associate/Engagement Manager – Financial Services

About the role

Oliver Wyman is seeking an Associate/Engagement Manager to join its Financial Services practice in Sydney. You will work on complex strategy projects for top financial institutions, breaking down problems and guiding junior consultants.

Key responsibilities

• Break down complex problems into discrete tasks and direct junior consultants.
• Plan and execute analysis, identify core issues, and craft recommendations.
• Work side‑by‑side with clients and project teams to move projects forward.
• Manage small teams to deliver high‑quality work.

Required profile

• 4‑8 years of relevant Financial Services experience, preferably from a top‑tier strategy consulting firm or in‑house strategy department.
• In‑depth knowledge of the financial services sector.
• Strong analytical and synthesis abilities with experience conducting sophisticated analyses.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to travel and take initiative.

• Analytical work with large data sets.
• Ability to generate novel ideas for solving complex client problems.
