Associate / Senior Associate, Global Financial Markets

About the role

Clifford Chance is seeking a high‑performing Associate (1–3 PQE) to join its Global Financial Markets practice in Australia. The role offers the chance to work on market‑leading, complex transactions as part of a globally integrated team.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on a wide range of financing transactions, including cross‑border and multi‑jurisdictional matters.
• Work closely with partners and colleagues across global offices to deliver seamless, integrated client solutions.
• Take an active role in transaction execution, including drafting, negotiation, and client management.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships while supporting business development initiatives.

Required profile

• 2–4 years’ PQE (UK equivalent) with qualification in a Commonwealth jurisdiction.
• Strong technical and transactional skills with a proven ability to deliver high‑quality legal advice.
• Excellent academic credentials, strong commercial acumen, and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
• Proactive approach to business development and client relationship management.

Required skills

• Experience in general banking, infrastructure/project finance, leveraged finance, restructuring, asset finance or structured finance.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across jurisdictions and cultures.
