Associate Professor of Nursing (Evidence and Implementation Science)

About the role

The School of Nursing and Midwifery at Western Sydney University seeks an Associate Professor to lead implementation science that translates nursing evidence into sustained improvements in care, education and community health. This full‑time, ongoing position is based at the Campbelltown Campus with flexible working arrangements.

Key responsibilities

• Provide leadership in education, research and capacity development in implementation science and evidence‑based practice.
• Teach evidence‑based practice and implementation science methods across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and develop new course offerings.
• Supervise higher degree research candidates and mentor clinician‑researchers.
• Collaborate with the Translational Health Research Institute, local health district and industry partners to strengthen research translation and clinical partnerships.
• Evaluate adoption of digital health and AI‑enabled care models in frontline practice.

Required profile

• PhD in a related discipline with demonstrated expertise in nursing implementation science.
• Proven success designing and delivering undergraduate and postgraduate learning experiences using contemporary pedagogical approaches.
• Strong track record of research leadership, project management and supervision of postgraduate researchers.
• Highly developed interpersonal and collaboration skills to build productive relationships across academia, industry and professional networks.
• Passion for mentoring and fostering a culture of excellence in teaching, research and engagement.
