Associate – Liability (2-4 years PQE)

About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated Associate Lawyer with 2–4 years post‑qualification experience to join a highly regarded Liability team in Perth. You will work closely with experienced partners and lawyers on a wide variety of insurance and liability matters, gaining exposure to shipping, marine, property, aviation and commercial disputes.

Key responsibilities

• Draft legal documents, pleadings and advice for a diverse client base including insurers, government entities, transport companies, airlines and construction firms.
• Undertake legal research, case‑law analysis and review documents and evidence to identify key issues.
• Liaise with clients, counsel and stakeholders, supporting litigation and arbitration proceedings.
• Contribute to advisory and transactional work across domestic and international matters.

Required profile

• 2–4 years PQE gained in a reputable law firm, preferably with exposure to insurance, liability or commercial litigation.
• Strong drafting abilities, excellent written and verbal communication, and capacity to manage competing priorities.
• Experience in marine, aviation, transportation or property damage matters is highly regarded but not essential.
