Associate Environmental Planner

About the role

Join Jacobs’ Planning and Environmental Approvals team in Melbourne to contribute to sustainable infrastructure projects across renewables, water, power, mining, defence and transport sectors. You will work with stakeholders, clients and internal design teams to deliver planning, impact assessments and regulatory approvals.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver planning and environmental consulting projects, managing timeframes and budgets.
• Provide technical town planning advice, prepare approvals documentation and environmental management plans.
• Lead client interactions, build relationships and contribute to proposal development.
• Supervise and mentor junior team members, ensuring high‑quality report writing and deliverables.

Required profile

• Degree or postgraduate qualification in town planning, environmental science or related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience applying Victorian legislation and assessing development applications.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to work autonomously.
• Effective presentation and verbal communication abilities.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Victorian planning legislation.
• Experience delivering environmental impact assessments and environmental approvals.
