Purchase Manager

About the role

The Purchase Manager will lead end‑to‑end procurement of agri‑commodities for a global agri‑processing company. Based on‑site in Melbourne, this full‑time role ensures timely material availability to support production and distribution.

Key responsibilities

• Source, select vendors and negotiate contracts for pulses, grains, oil seeds and related products.
• Monitor market trends, pricing and supplier performance to maintain cost efficiency.
• Coordinate with operations, logistics, finance and quality teams to optimise inventory and meet production schedules.
• Maintain accurate purchase records, prepare reports and drive continuous improvement in procurement processes.

Required profile

• Strong procurement expertise with vendor management and contract negotiation experience.
• Background in agri commodities or food processing, understanding of pulses, grains and oil seeds.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Agriculture or related field; relevant certifications a plus.
• Ability to work on‑site, manage multiple priorities and make sound decisions in a fast‑paced environment.

• Data analysis and cost optimisation capabilities.
• Knowledge of import/export procedures and relevant regulatory standards.
