Associate Director, Drainage – Relocate to Perth

About the role
Lead hydraulic design and technical review of stormwater and drainage infrastructure for major projects in Perth, with relocation support available.
Key responsibilities
- Lead hydraulic assessment and design for transport, defence and energy projects.
- Provide technical leadership for pit and pipe networks, open channels, culverts, detention and treatment facilities.
- Oversee hydrologic and hydraulic modelling and integrate results into design.
- Review and approve calculations, models, drawings, reports and specifications.
- Advise on flood risk, drainage strategy, network performance and infrastructure resilience.
- Support delivery from concept through detailed design and construction.
- Mentor junior engineers and act as senior technical reviewer.
- Contribute to client engagement, work winning and proposal development in the Perth market.
Required profile
- 15+ years post‑graduate experience in stormwater and drainage hydraulics.
- Proven experience delivering major infrastructure projects in a consulting environment.
- Strong technical leadership, design review and mentoring abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication with clients and stakeholders.
- Sound commercial awareness and ability to contribute to project delivery outcomes.
Required skills
- Stormwater network hydraulics (underground and surface systems).
- Design standards such as ARR 2019 and relevant state drainage criteria.
- Software: 12d, Drains, TUFLOW, HEC‑RAS, MUSIC, RORB (or similar).
- Technical governance, independent design review and project assurance.
- Civil Engineering degree; CPEng or equivalent registration highly regarded.
