Associate DevOps Engineer

About the role

Join the Seven West Media Engineering team to develop cloud‑based platforms for a suite of digital media products. You will work with modern AWS services, automation tools and containers while collaborating with innovators across technology and business.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain cloud infrastructure for platforms such as The West, The Nightly, PerthNow and regional sites.
• Automate configuration, testing and CI/CD pipelines using IaC tools and cloud‑native services.
• Implement security hardening, monitoring and risk mitigation.
• Develop and maintain telemetry and automation coverage for build and deployment pipelines.
• Work with data and ETL processes to manage transformations.

Required profile

• Relevant IT qualification (e.g., Computer Science degree or certifications).
• Recent graduate or candidate with some cloud experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to investigate, research and apply AI tools.

Required skills

• AWS cloud services.
• Infrastructure‑as‑code tools: Pulumi, Terraform, CDK or similar.
• Source control and CI/CD platforms: GitHub.
• Programming/scripting: TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, Bash, PowerShell.
• Container technologies: Docker, Amazon ECS.
