Associate - Corporate Commercial (Healthcare)

About the role

Maddocks, a modern Australian law firm, is looking for a 4+ PQE corporate lawyer to join its commercial healthcare team, led by Lucille Scomazzon, Aaron Kloczko and Angela Wood. The role centres on M&A and broader corporate advisory work for clients across the healthcare sector; previous healthcare experience is not required.

Key responsibilities

• Work on M&A and corporate advisory matters for healthcare clients
• Build trusted client relationships and work directly with clients
• Collaborate across practice groups and take increasing responsibility for matters
• Contribute to business development and the growth of the practice
• Develop your own client relationships alongside senior lawyers

Required profile

• 4+ years of PQE in a well-regarded corporate practice, with strong M&A experience
• Sound commercial judgement and the confidence to take responsibility for matters
• Genuinely client-focused approach and interest in building enduring client relationships
• Interest in contributing to business development and the growth of the practice
• Intellectual curiosity and the ability to grasp new industries and regulatory environments quickly
• Must be legally permitted to work in Australia

Required skills

• Excellent technical, drafting and analytical skills with close attention to detail
• Strong M&A experience
