Associate – Class Actions

About the role

Join Shine Lawyers' nationally recognised Class Actions team in Melbourne CBD as an Associate. You will work on high‑profile class actions, contributing to case strategy, expert evidence and investigations while receiving mentorship from senior practitioners.

Key responsibilities

• Support the conduct of multiple class actions, delegating tasks to law clerks and paralegals.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and class action group members, managing expectations and communications.
• Follow Shine's case management processes to ensure timely delivery of tasks and support junior team members.
• Draft high‑quality legal documents efficiently.

Required profile

• A current practising certificate.
• At least 3 years of experience as a PAE solicitor with a solid foundation in commercial litigation.
• Genuine desire to build a career in financial services or finance‑based class actions.
• Strong ability to build rapport with group members and take evidence from lay witnesses.
• Excellent legal analytical, research and attention‑to‑detail skills.
• Capability to manage large volumes of complex documents and reports.
• Commitment to teamwork and delivering exceptional client results.
