Assistant Store Manager - Capalaba

About the role

Telstra is hiring a full-time Assistant Store Manager for its Capalaba retail store. The role supports store operations by coordinating the team and maintaining service standards, handling moderately complex tasks and working independently on defined responsibilities. It involves growing autonomy and contributing to a seamless customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Work closely with the Store Manager to coach and grow the retail team
• Oversee the induction of new team members
• Coach the team to meet and exceed store targets
• Support the team with customer query escalations
• Act as the Store Manager's right-hand person and step in as Store Manager when needed
• Execute business initiatives in store to meet financial and customer key metrics
• Motivate the team, foster a positive store culture and organise the floor and work schedules to meet customer demand

Required profile

• Previous experience in a retail leadership or assistant management role
• Proven ability to drive a retail team to exceed sales targets and KPIs
• Able to influence and build rapport with a diverse team and resolve customer issues creatively
• An excellent communicator who can support the Store Manager through change
