Assistant Merchandise Manager (Filtration)

About the role

Genuine Parts Company, the global leader in automotive parts and accessories, is hiring an Assistant Merchandise Manager for its Filtration category within GPC Asia Pacific, which is the largest automotive aftermarket parts supplier in Australia and New Zealand. The role reports directly to a Merchandise Manager and coordinates category collateral and catalogue schedules so that merchandise plans are rolled out on time.

Key responsibilities

• Meet business objectives related to category plans
• Help ensure catalogue deadlines are met
• Research new products
• Analyse and review data
• Prepare reports and present them
• Provide general administrative support for the role and category
• Build internal and external stakeholder relationships

Required profile

• Resilient, tenacious personality who thrives in a fast-paced role and meets defined deadlines
• Problem-solving approach, able to work with set objectives and information even when it seems ambiguous
• Category, merchandise or buying exposure, or a passion for a career in this area
• Retail or FMCG experience desirable

Required skills

• Strong communication skills and stakeholder relationship building
• Well-developed Excel skills and good experience with other Microsoft packages
• Ability to analyse information, keen eye for detail and strong sense of logic
• Organised and administratively capable
