Assistant Financial Controller

About the role

The Assistant Financial Controller supports the Director of Finance in managing the finance function for the three airport resort brands in Darwin. This position blends hands‑on accounting work with stakeholder collaboration across a multi‑brand hospitality operation.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Director of Finance in leading, training and mentoring the finance team.
• Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports in line with Accor guidelines, including market segment analysis and operating statements.
• Work with department heads to identify cost‑effective measures that improve profitability.
• Oversee credit approval, collections and debtor balance monitoring.
• Monitor payroll procedures and enforce cash‑handling policies.
• Maintain in‑house ledgers, perform monthly reconciliations for all balance‑sheet accounts.
• Manage daily and monthly cash flow and ensure timely owner payments.
• Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting process with input from department managers.
• Assist with year‑end accounts preparation and coordinate audit activities.
• Implement Accor policies and internal controls.

Required profile

• Proven finance experience in hospitality, hotels or a comparable multi‑site environment.
• Strong understanding of hotel operations, payroll and financial reporting.
• Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships across departments and brands.
• Experience guiding, training or mentoring finance team members.
• High attention to detail and strong personal integrity.
