Assistant Banquets Operations Manager

About the role

Join the team at Novotel Sunshine Coast Resort and support the delivery of conferences, meetings, weddings and large‑scale events in the Sunshine Coast Convention Centre. Reporting to the Conference & Events Operations Manager, you will help ensure seamless event execution and outstanding guest experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Support the set‑up, execution and breakdown of conferences, meetings, weddings and special events.
• Assist in leading, coaching and motivating the Banquets Operations team.
• Coordinate with Food & Beverage, Kitchen and other operational teams to ensure smooth event delivery.
• Maintain high service standards and respond to guest needs throughout events.
• Support rostering, labour management and drive operational efficiency.

Required profile

• Minimum three years’ experience in banquets, conference or large‑scale event operations.
• Proven ability to deliver exceptional service in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong leadership and team‑motivation skills.
• Excellent organisational abilities with a proactive, detail‑oriented approach.
• Flexible to work rotating roster including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
