Area Manager – Retail (Sydney)

About the role

The Area Manager will lead a group of Johnny Bigg stores in the Sydney region, ensuring they meet sales, profitability and customer experience targets. This full‑time, on‑site position reports to head office and works closely with store leaders to drive operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Coach, mentor and develop store managers and their teams.
• Monitor store performance, analyse sales and KPI data, and identify improvement opportunities.
• Ensure visual merchandising, brand standards and promotional initiatives are executed consistently.
• Manage staffing levels, rostering, recruitment, onboarding and performance management across multiple locations.
• Collaborate with head‑office functions to implement strategic directions and maintain compliance.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing multiple retail sites or high‑volume stores.
• Strong leadership, team‑development and performance‑coaching abilities.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder‑management and relationship‑building skills.
• Ability to travel regularly within the region and work flexible hours, including weekends.
• Experience in fashion, apparel or size‑inclusive retail is highly regarded.

Required skills

• Experience using inventory management tools.
• Familiarity with reporting platforms.
• Competence in Microsoft Office applications.
