Architect – Rail Projects, Fully Remote to Start

About the role

Genton, an Australian architecture and urban design practice focused on design-led outcomes that enhance the public realm, is looking for an experienced Architect with strong rail project experience. The role suits an all-round architect who enjoys working across the full project lifecycle, from concept design and town planning through to documentation, contract administration and on-site delivery. It is based in Brisbane and fully remote to start.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of project delivery, including concept design, town planning, design development, documentation and contract administration
• Supervise quality control, production and management of resources to meet project commitments
• Engage with stakeholders such as councils, government departments and consultants as required
• Give regular, accurate feedback to the team to manage time and client expectations
• Apply technical knowledge of building materials, construction methods and applicable codes and standards to project documentation
• Work collaboratively in a remote capacity, staying connected with the wider Genton team

Required profile

• Bachelor of Architecture (or equivalent 5-year degree) plus relevant post-qualification experience
• Registered Architect preferred but not essential
• Strong rail project experience, ideally across design, documentation and delivery stages
• Local knowledge and contacts within Brisbane and greater Queensland
• Comfortable working autonomously and remotely, with strong self-management and communication skills

Required skills

• Excellent Revit skills; working knowledge of AutoCAD and other CAD/visualisation tools (SketchUp, Rhino, 3D Studio Max, V-Ray and Adobe Creative Suite advantageous)
• Sound understanding of architectural practice, building materials, construction methods and compliance requirements
• Strong client-facing skills and excellent written and verbal communication
