APS5 Finance Officer

About the role

Join the central Finance Business Partnering team of a high‑profile federal regulatory agency. In this 12‑month labour‑hire position you will help streamline revenue tracking, automate invoicing processes and provide insightful financial advice to internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Strengthen and streamline the agency’s program revenue tracking and recovery processes.
• Automate time‑keeping to invoicing workflows, moving from manual entry to efficient systems.
• Maintain and validate a central historical dataset that records revenue recovery efforts.
• Monitor revenue versus budget, generate reports and present findings to the Governance Forum.
• Provide high‑level financial advice and support to internal business streams on scheme budgets.
• Collaborate with finance and non‑finance teams to ensure data integrity and timely reporting.

Required profile

• Strong experience in accounting, financial administration or revenue recovery/invoicing setups.
• Comfort working with large datasets, identifying discrepancies and reconciling numbers across multiple sources.
• Excellent communication skills to act as a supportive finance partner.
• Australian citizenship and residence in Canberra, Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne or Adelaide.

• Excel – advanced use with large data sets and complex formulas.
