Application Analytics Lead

About the role

The Application Analytics Lead sits within ANZ’s Customer Protection, Fraud Analytics team and is responsible for leading fraud‑prevention analytics across customer onboarding and application journeys. You will use data, analytics and intelligence to spot emerging application fraud risks and shape detection and prevention strategies for home loans, credit cards, personal lending and transaction accounts.

Key responsibilities

• Lead application fraud analytics and strategy across onboarding, deposit and lending journeys.
• Identify emerging fraud trends and develop prevention and detection tactics to minimise losses.
• Optimise fraud controls and guide rule‑enhancement work within platforms such as Hunter.
• Leverage internal and external data sources, including credit‑bureau information, to improve decision‑making.
• Manage and coach a small team of analysts, prioritising work and fostering development.
• Build strong relationships with Lending, Product, Operations, Risk, Technology and Fraud stakeholders to influence outcomes.
• Partner with external vendors and industry participants to stay ahead of emerging threats.
• Report fraud trends, losses and key performance metrics to business stakeholders in a timely manner.
• Support new product launches and onboarding initiatives by assessing and mitigating fraud risk.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading a team of analysts in a fraud‑analytics environment.
• Strong stakeholder‑management skills across product, operations, risk and technology functions.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced setting with constantly evolving fraud threats.
• Experience collaborating with external vendors and industry bodies.
• Excellent reporting and communication capabilities for senior business audiences.
