Analyst, Personal Banking Third-Party Distribution Risk

About the role

Macquarie is reshaping how it governs the distribution of Personal Banking deposit products through third-party advisers. This Senior Analyst role in Sydney supports oversight of advisers and trading platforms through onboarding due diligence, data-driven monitoring, investigations and assurance activities. It works closely with AFSL holders, advisers and internal stakeholders across Sales, Distribution, Product, Risk and Legal.

Key responsibilities

• Support oversight of AFSLs, advisers and trading platforms through onboarding due diligence, monitoring, investigations and assurance
• Identify and assess potential risks, investigate concerns and execute risk-based reviews
• Help drive remediation and consequence management outcomes
• Gather market intelligence and contribute to ongoing improvement of third-party distributor risk management

Required profile

• 2-4+ years' experience in risk, compliance, assurance, financial crime or operational risk within banking or financial services, including consulting
• Track record of problem solving and proposing practical, innovative solutions
• Foundational knowledge of key financial services regulation and legislation, with a desire to deepen knowledge of adviser and AFSL obligations
• Attention to detail, strong communication skills and ability to tailor messages to diverse audiences
• Accountable, disciplined and able to work to deadlines
• Exposure to investigations, onboarding due diligence, AML, fraud or complaints handling is highly regarded
• Prior exposure to risk management in financial advice or third-party distribution is advantageous but not essential
