Aircraft Projects Engineer – Cabin Development

About the role

Join Qantas as an Aircraft Projects Engineer and contribute to high‑profile cabin development programmes within the Fleet Renewal Strategy. This permanent full‑time role is based at the Mascot Corporate Campus and includes occasional international travel.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver aircraft interior products and modifications for strategic Qantas Group projects.
• Produce design documentation that meets customer requirements and regulatory standards.
• Assess vendor proposals and coordinate with stakeholders to achieve project milestones.
• Ensure compliance with certification and airworthiness regulations throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Professional engineering degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Structures or related field, or equivalent industry experience.
• Extensive aviation engineering experience, preferably in cabin interior product development.
• Proven ability to manage small to large design projects under tight schedules and budgets.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a focus on safety and compliance.

Required skills

• Knowledge of CASR Part 21 regulations.
• Knowledge of CASR Part 42 regulations.
• Familiarity with EASA regulations.
• Familiarity with FAA regulations.
• Experience in cabin interior product development (seats, galleys, lavatories, lighting, IFEC, etc.).
• Ability to produce detailed aircraft interior design documentation.
