Mechanical Production Technician (Sydney)

About the role

Anduril Industries is seeking a Mechanical Production Technician to join its Sydney team, supporting the design, build, and delivery of next‑generation Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs). You will work in a multidisciplinary environment, assembling complex electro‑mechanical systems and preparing them for service.

Key responsibilities

• Build, test, and integrate mechanical assemblies for AUVs.
• Construct and improve test and manufacturing facilities, providing input on processes and best practices.
• Fabricate jigs, fixtures, and equipment to increase build efficiency.
• Provide direct feedback to engineering on design‑for‑manufacture (DFM) and AI‑related considerations.
• Use the digital ERP system for work‑order tracking, inventory management, and quality reporting.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a technician role within automotive, aircraft, maritime, or similar environments.
• Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and work instructions.
• Hands‑on experience with plastic and metal machining as well as additive manufacturing.
• Proven track record of performing functional checkouts and tests.
• Competence in risk assessment, hazard mitigation, and related documentation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a commitment to an inclusive culture.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain an NV2 security clearance.
