Air Transport Coordinator (Fixed Term)

About the role

Maersk is hiring an Air Transport Coordinator (A2) for a 12-month fixed-term role providing parental leave cover. The position is based in Sydney or Melbourne, Australia, and covers the coordination of air freight and less-than-container-load (LCL) shipments in line with customer delivery requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the transportation of LCL and air freight imports and exports in Sydney and Brisbane, with backup support for Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.
• Check and monitor the customs clearance status of assigned shipments.
• Coordinate carrier payments and the release of delivery orders.
• Manage cartage providers daily to meet agreed service levels and KPIs.
• Liaise with internal departments and communicate with customers about delivery requirements and shipment updates.
• Monitor and act on Integrated Cargo System (ICS) and biosecurity holds, including arranging inspections when needed.
• Arrange timeslot bookings through nominated service providers and provide operational coverage when team members are absent.
• Identify, communicate and maintain Chain of Responsibility policies, records and compliance, and analyse records to flag risks and non-compliance.
• Create and update documentation and customer invoices in the system.

Required profile

• Previous experience in air freight import and export operations.
• Experience in LCL import and export operations is advantageous.
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Customer-focused mindset and ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Required skills

• Experience with CargoWise One (CW1) is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook and Excel.
• Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
