Agitator Driver & Relief Batcher

About the role

Heidelberg Materials is hiring an Agitator Driver and Relief Batcher for its Emerald plant. The role combines operating modern, well-maintained agitator trucks with batching support when required, plus yard duties and customer interaction, all aimed at delivering high-quality concrete. It is a Monday to Friday schedule of 45 to 55 average weekly hours, with some Saturday work as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Filling in for the batcher in charge when required
• Operating the front-end loader (for those with a ticket or experience)
• Completing stock takes
• Performing pre-start checks
• Loading and delivering concrete as an agitator driver
• Cleaning trucks and doing general site maintenance
• Supporting purchasing activities
• Ensuring safety and quality procedures are followed at all times

Required profile

• Valid Heavy Rigid (HR) licence (essential for the driving component)
• Current Construction White Card, or willingness to obtain one
• Ability to adapt quickly to change and follow processes and procedures
• Safety-first attitude and commitment to keeping a clean, presentable truck

Required skills

• Good computer skills
• SAP or batching experience is beneficial but not essential
• External operator experience for maintenance or heavy TFRs is preferred but not essential
• Strong organisational and time-management skills

• Hourly rate of $36.40, with overtime at time and a half after 8 hours and double time after 10 hours
