Administration Safeguarding Officer (APS4)

About the role

The Safeguarding Advisory Team of a federal government agency is looking for an APS4 Administration Officer in Parramatta, Western Sydney. The role protects the well-being of NDIS participants and upholds service integrity by delivering operational and administrative support, managing intake workflows, triaging complex queries and giving timely, accurate advice. It is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, 08:30AM-5PM, on a 12-month initial assignment, advertised by Randstad.

Key responsibilities

• Triage and coordinate requests for safeguarding advice: review, register and prioritise them so they are allocated accurately and in time.
• Manage end-to-end workflows: monitor advice requests, maintain logs, update records and support pipeline reporting to meet business service standards.
• Act as a central point of contact for internal stakeholders, coordinating meetings, managing correspondence and giving clear procedural guidance.
• Gather information, review records and analyse data to help the team make evidence-based recommendations.
• Identify operational bottlenecks, suggest procedural improvements and support projects that strengthen participant safeguarding frameworks.

Required profile

• Sound judgement and discretion: applying legislation, policy and procedures to routine and moderately complex matters and escalating sensitive issues appropriately.
• Strong workflow and time management in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, handling sensitive participant details confidentially.
• Collaborative, resilient and able to adapt to shifting priorities.
• Working with Children Check.
