Accountant - Month-End Close and Reporting

About the role

A growing organisation in a specialised professional services sector is looking for an accountant to take ownership of finance processes and continuous improvement initiatives. The role offers exposure across the entire finance function.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the month-end close, including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
• Prepare monthly management reports, including Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet reporting
• Oversee accounts payable, supplier payments and reconciliations
• Manage accounts receivable, customer invoicing, collections and debtor management
• Process payroll and manage superannuation, PAYG and payroll tax obligations
• Prepare BAS, GST reconciliations and assist with statutory compliance
• Manage bank reconciliations, cash flow forecasting and treasury activities
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial variance analysis
• Assist with year-end audit requirements and audit schedules
• Identify and implement process improvement opportunities across finance operations

Required profile

• Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
• CPA or CA qualified, or working towards qualification
• 3-5+ years of experience in a broad accounting position
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities

• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
• Proficiency with accounting systems and Excel
