Accountant – Manufacturing Finance Team

About the role

We are looking for a highly organised, hands‑on Accountant to join our Finance Team at the head office in Yatala, Queensland. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will own day‑to‑day financial operations across multiple entities and work closely with operations, sales and leadership to provide actionable financial insights.

Key responsibilities

• Reconcile bank accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain and monitor the general ledger and financial records.
• Monthly balance‑sheet reconciliation and preparation of supporting workpapers.
• Prepare monthly departmental and ad‑hoc reports.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly GST/BAS returns.
• Assist with manufacturing variance reporting, production cost monitoring and stock‑control support.
• Manage fixed‑asset acquisitions, disposals, register maintenance and work‑in‑progress calculations.
• Provide payroll backup, processing and related administration.
• Oversee end‑to‑end Accounts Payable, including invoice matching, statement reconciliation and payment preparation.
• Support year‑end financial statement and income‑tax return compilation, liaising with external tax agents and auditors.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Degree in Accounting with strong technical accounting knowledge.
• Working towards CPA qualification.
• Proficiency in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.

Required skills

• Microsoft Business Central (ERP) experience.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, etc.).
• Outlook proficiency.
