Accountant

About the role

Compass Education is seeking an Accountant to support monthly reporting and day‑to‑day finance operations for its growing education‑technology business. You will work closely with the Financial Controller, CFO and the wider finance team, gaining exposure across the full finance function.

Key responsibilities

• Perform month‑end tasks, including GL reconciliations and assisting with group account consolidation.
• Support tax compliance, audit preparation and the development of finance processes and controls.
• Process invoices, maintain vendor records, handle expense claims and assist with payroll processing.
• Reconcile bank accounts, investigate discrepancies and manage debt recovery from school customers.
• Provide general finance team support, including data entry and ad‑hoc reporting requests.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping or finance, covering month‑end, reconciliations and accounts payable.
• CPA or CA membership, or actively working towards qualification.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight month‑end deadlines.
• Clear communication skills, especially when following up outstanding debts.
