Account Manager (Tamworth)

About the role

Telstra Business Technology Centre Northern NSW is looking for an Account Manager in Tamworth to work directly with small and medium businesses across Northern NSW. The role focuses on building trusted relationships and connecting customers with technology solutions that improve productivity and support growth. It is a permanent position with a closing date of 3 November 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with local business customers
• Understand each customer's business, goals and technology needs
• Manage and grow a portfolio through proactive customer engagement
• Identify opportunities that deliver genuine value and better business outcomes
• Connect customers with the right technology solutions and specialist support
• Develop new relationships through warm and cold calling
• Maintain consistent communication, follow-up and customer care
• Contribute positively to team performance, culture and business growth

Required profile

• Ideally experience in account management, telecommunications, ICT, business sales, retail sales or customer-facing roles
• A genuine understanding of small and medium business customers
• Confidence engaging with existing and prospective customers
• Experience with proactive calling, relationship building and follow-up
• Willingness to learn, be coached and develop
• Backgrounds such as customer service, banking, hospitality, retail leadership, business development or small business are also considered
