Account Manager, SMB

About the role

As an Account Manager for Small and Medium‑size Businesses (SMB), you will partner with Australian merchants to help them grow using Square’s integrated commerce platform. You will act as a trusted advisor, understanding each client’s unique challenges and recommending the right mix of payment, point‑of‑sale, inventory and financial tools.

Key responsibilities

• Own a portfolio of SMB merchants, driving adoption, retention and revenue growth.
• Conduct consultative outreach and business coaching to help merchants maximise Square’s product suite.
• Advocate for merchant needs internally, providing feedback to product, sales and support teams.
• Identify upsell and cross‑sell opportunities, delivering value‑based recommendations.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to tailor solutions for complex business scenarios.

Required profile

• Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Ability to manage time effectively and balance proactive outreach with account maintenance.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on delivering measurable results.

Required skills

• Experience in account management or sales within a SaaS or fintech environment.
• Understanding of omnichannel commerce solutions and merchant needs.
