3D Concrete Printing Mechanical Technician

About the role

The 3DCP Mechanical Technician will operate, set up, calibrate and maintain Dune Building Technologies' 3D concrete printing equipment on both factory and construction sites, ensuring reliable and efficient printing operations.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, operate and monitor COBOD 3D concrete printing equipment.
• Install, commission and calibrate printers.
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on printers and related mechanical systems.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair mechanical and operational faults.
• Assist with print file preparation, printer setup and slicing requirements.
• Monitor performance, make technical adjustments during printing and conduct quality checks.
• Maintain records of maintenance, calibration, faults and equipment.
• Develop SOPs for operation, maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with print, materials and technical teams during operations.
• Support equipment testing, trials and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Practical experience with mechanical machinery or automated equipment.
• Proven experience in installation, commissioning, calibration, maintenance and fault finding.

Required skills

• COBOD 3D concrete printing equipment operation.
• Mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Calibration and commissioning of automated printers.
• CAD or slicing software experience (highly regarded).
