2IC - Broadacre Cropping Operation, WA

About the role

A large-scale broadacre cropping operation in Western Australia's Great Southern region, near Ravensthorpe, is seeking a permanent 2IC to join its established leadership team. The role works closely with the owner and 1IC across the cropping program on a 13,000-hectare property, involving seeding, spraying, harvest, staff coordination and day-to-day decisions. It suits someone wanting more responsibility than a pure machinery operator role while staying hands-on.

Key responsibilities

• Work alongside the owner and 1IC across the cropping operation
• Assist with seeding, spraying and harvest programs
• Coordinate staff and daily workloads
• Operate and maintain large-scale broadacre machinery
• Support planning and execution of cropping activities
• Assist with machinery maintenance and workshop activities
• Contribute to operational decision making during peak periods

Required profile

• Minimum two years of cropping experience
• Experience leading staff or coordinating daily operations
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks
• Current driver's licence; HR or MC licence highly regarded
• Strong communication skills and positive attitude
