Youth Homelessness Support Worker

About the role

PCYC Cairns & Yarrabah is seeking Youth Homelessness Support Workers for its clubs in Cairns and Yarrabah. Reporting to the Youth Homelessness Coordinator, you will deliver direct support to young people identified through after-school programs and community engagement, building trusted relationships, identifying risks and support needs, providing case management and connecting them with services to prevent or address homelessness. The role works with schools, families and community agencies to improve outcomes for vulnerable young people.

Required profile

• QLD Working with Children Check (Blue Card) held or able to obtain before starting, with consent to a National Police Check
• Certificate IV in youth work, community development/welfare, human services or a related discipline, or equivalent (desirable)
• Relevant experience in the social and community sector (desirable)
• Current driver's licence, eligible to obtain an RDA if required
• Current First Aid and CPR certificate, or willingness to obtain one
