Youth Homelessness Coordinator

About the role

PCYC Cairns and Yarrabah Youth Clubs is seeking a Youth Homelessness Coordinator to lead early intervention and support services for young people at risk of homelessness. The role reports to the Youth Club Manager and focuses on identifying at-risk youth through after-school programs, providing or overseeing case management support, coordinating with community stakeholders and supporting a team of Support Workers.

Key responsibilities

• Identify young people at risk of homelessness through after-school programs
• Provide or oversee case management support
• Coordinate responses with community stakeholders
• Build partnerships with schools, government agencies, community organisations, housing providers and support services
• Guide and support the team of Support Workers

Required profile

• QLD Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and consent to a National Police Check; Blue Card No Card, No Start and Restricted Person legislation applies
• Experience in the not-for-profit sector (desirable)
• Tertiary qualification in an appropriate field (social work, psychology, human services or similar) and at least 3 years' experience in social and community sector programs (desirable)
• Ability to travel and work flexible hours as required
• Current First Aid and CPR certificate, or willingness to obtain one
