Work Health & Safety Manager

About the role

Daikin Australia is hiring a Work Health & Safety (WHS) Manager, reporting directly to the Head of Human Resources. It is a high-visibility, active front-facing role driving the safety strategy across all national operations and sites, with the manager walking the sites alongside warehouse, operational and office teams. The person bridges compliance and day-to-day operations to champion a proactive safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Get out on-site to build trust, conduct toolbox talks, lead safety briefings and run open forums where staff report hazards early
• Build trusted relationships across departments and interstate sites and embed a proactive safety culture
• Maintain two-way communication channels and lead workplace safety committees
• Oversee incident investigations, near-miss reporting and hazard management using a risk-based approach
• Report critical matters to executive leadership and analyse safety metrics to standardise reporting and deliver monthly executive safety reports
• Maintain and improve the Safety Management System in line with the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 and company standards
• Liaise with SafeWork Australia and regulators

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Work Health and Safety or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Minimum 5 years of WHS experience across complex, multi-site, multi-functional operations; warehouse or manufacturing experience highly regarded
• In-depth knowledge of Australian WHS legislation, statutory reporting and industry best practice
• Proven track record in risk assessments, incident investigations, WHS training facilitation and data-driven reporting
• Ability to build trust and influence stakeholders from warehouse teams to executives
