Work Health & Safety Business Partner (A05)

About the role

A Queensland State Government department based in Brisbane Southside is seeking an A05 Work Health & Safety Business Partner on a temporary contract through to March 2027, with the possibility of extension. The role supports the People and Culture division during a period of organisational realignment, providing practical WHS advice, helping review and improve operational procedures, supporting risk and incident management and promoting health, safety and wellbeing initiatives. The advertised rate is from $69 per hour plus 12% super (PAYG).

Key responsibilities

• Reporting: collate and prepare periodic Executive and Board reports on WHS key performance data and metrics
• Advisory: give high-level advice to managers, educators and service staff on health, safety and wellbeing issues and continuous improvement
• Partnerships: build relationships across the business to identify risk-based HSW solutions and raise staff awareness of safety culture
• Committees and compliance: manage state-wide operational committee meetings, review incidents, manage investigations and run regular audits and workplace inspections
• Systems: help develop, implement and maintain HSW procedures, instructions and systems, and keep staff informed of legislative changes
