Web/UI Developer for SKA-Low Telescope

About the role

The Web/UI Developer will create and maintain user interfaces for operating the SKA-Low telescope, supporting monitoring, control, observation planning and scientific data visualisation. You will work with JavaScript, React and NextJS, integrating UI components with telescope systems via GraphQL.

Key responsibilities

• Develop high‑quality UI components using JavaScript, React and NextJS following CSIRO quality standards.
• Integrate UI modules with backend systems using GraphQL and support continuous integration pipelines.
• Collaborate with operations and commissioning users to capture requirements and deliver usable solutions.
• Participate in the Low Agile Release Train as part of a distributed software team.
• Contribute to maintenance and operation of telescope and observatory user interfaces.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent programming experience.
• Proven experience in Web/UI development with JavaScript and front‑end frameworks such as React or NextJS.
• Familiarity with modern development practices including version control, CI/CD, automated testing and documentation.
• Strong communication skills to work with multidisciplinary teams and end‑users.
