Web Developer (Level 1) – Hybrid, Early Career

About the role

ACER is seeking a Web Developer (Level 1) to design and build public‑facing websites and digital experiences that support education and research worldwide. This hybrid position is primarily remote with occasional visits to our Camberwell office.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build accessible, responsive websites.
• Translate visual designs into high‑quality front‑end code.
• Work with modern website builders and CMS platforms.
• Support testing, documentation, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with developers, designers, and internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Experience designing and building websites or strong project work.
• Solid understanding of HTML, CSS and responsive web development.
• Familiarity with AI‑assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot).
• Experience with design tools such as Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud.
• Exposure to JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Next.js).
• Experience with Webflow and CMS platforms (Expression Engine, Craft CMS, WordPress).
• Knowledge of UX, accessibility and SEO principles.
• Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
