Ward Clerk Level 5 Neurosciences

About the role

St Vincent's Private Hospital Fitzroy is looking for an experienced Ward Clerk for a permanent, full-time position in its neurosciences ward. The role supports hospital operations and requires strong clerical skills and excellent customer service for staff and patients.

Key responsibilities

• Support patient flow by assisting with patient admissions, transfers and discharges
• Act as a key point of contact for enquiries and ward coordination
• Welcome and provide a friendly, professional and helpful service to patients, families, visitors and staff
• Answer telephone enquiries and maintain accurate records using hospital information systems
• Manage medical records and patient documentation
• Provide administration support to the Nurse Unit Manager and ward staff

Required profile

• Highly organised and process-driven, with attention to detail and efficient time management
• Able to handle a fast pace and multiple demands, prioritising tasks to meet timelines
• Previous hospital or customer service experience
• Criminal record and child protection checks will be part of the selection criteria

Required skills

• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Experience with a hospital patient information management system and medical terminology is highly desirable
