VP of Marketing
sitemate · Sydney
Job description
About the role
Sitemate, which builds software and AI agents for construction, infrastructure and industrial companies, is hiring a VP of Marketing in Sydney, Australia. The role reports to the CEO, sits at level M12 on the company's career framework and is hybrid, with two days in the office. It covers global demand generation across performance marketing, content engineering, marketing design, marketing operations and product marketing, with seven people across five areas. Remuneration is AUD 220,000 - 240,000 (excluding superannuation).
Key responsibilities
- Own the performance of the demand generation engine: content production, performance marketing (paid channels) and marketing operations infrastructure such as outbound systems, data and reporting.
- Lead the marketing organisation, including hiring, org design, headcount and budget, and performance, promotion and exit decisions for function leads.
- Set the quarterly planning cadence and the scoreboard that tracks results such as MQL-to-pipeline conversion, and cut initiatives that do not earn their place.
- Define the boundary with the VP of Growth: marketing owns bringing prospects to activation (demand, content, brand, paid), while Growth owns activation, retention, referral and expansion.
- Set the department's AI adoption target, decide what gets automated first and report the gains to the executive team.
- Work with the CEO, the VP of Growth, operations, GTM leadership and engineering leadership, and coach the four function leads.
Required profile
- Marketing leadership experience, ideally through a growth-stage transition, with SaaS experience.
- Demand generation experience, including direct ownership of a pipeline or MQL number.
- Content marketing experience covering both SEO and AEO, and performance marketing across paid channels.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and able to act as the single accountable owner on cross-functional work.
Required skills
- Technical fluency in attribution and conversion tracking, with hands-on setup or debugging experience.
- Nice to have: vertical tech background, experience building or owning marketing websites, and growth experience.
- Essential tools: WordPress, Slack, Jira, Confluence, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Bing Search Console, Meta channels and Google Sheets.
What we offer
- Monthly all-hands sharing of metrics, hiring plans and financial performance.
- Levels, career frameworks and pay ranges visible to employees.
- Equity, 20 days annual leave plus sick, carer's and compassionate leave, and parental leave.
- EAP, L&D budget, home office setup, weekly catered lunches, work-from-anywhere weeks and flex days.
