Volunteer Committee Member – Chairperson, Secretary or General Member

About the role

Fruit Share Adelaide is seeking passionate volunteers to join its governing committee. Roles include Chairperson, Secretary and General Committee Members who will help shape the charity’s strategic direction as it expands its impact on food waste reduction and community resilience.

Key responsibilities

• Chairperson: Keep the board focused on the mission, guide strategic objectives, chair meetings and the AGM, and support mediation across the committee.
• Secretary: Manage key documents and correspondence, record accurate minutes of meetings, and ensure compliance with regulatory and ACNC requirements.
• General Committee Members: Contribute to strategic governance, monitor performance, safeguard the organisation’s mission, and bring expertise in areas such as finance, fundraising, partnerships or marketing.

Required profile

• Strong commitment to reducing food waste and supporting food‑insecure communities.
• Willingness to volunteer time for board meetings and strategic activities.
• Interest or experience in nonprofit governance, strategic planning or relevant sector expertise.
