Veterinary Specialist – Emergency & Critical Care

About the role

The Animal Referral Hospital in Minchinbury is seeking a board‑certified Veterinary Specialist in Emergency & Critical Care to help build and lead its new Critical Care Department. You will work in a state‑of‑the‑art facility alongside top clinicians, contributing to high‑quality patient outcomes and mentorship of junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Provide emergency and critical care for a wide range of animal patients in a fast‑paced hospital.
• Utilise advanced diagnostics such as high‑field MRI, CT, fluoroscopy, endoscopy and ultrasound.
• Lead and develop the Critical Care Department, including ICU management and protocol development.
• Participate in teaching, mentorship and wet‑lab education for veterinary professionals.

Required profile

• Registered Specialist in Emergency & Critical Care (Diplomate ACVECC/ECVECC or Fellow ANZCVS preferred).
• Residency‑trained candidates are encouraged to apply.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with high‑field MRI, CT and fluoroscopy imaging.
• Experience in endoscopy and ultrasound diagnostics.
• Knowledge of ICU management and advanced patient monitoring systems.
