Veterinarian Clinician (GP), Small Animal Hospital

About the role

Adelaide University is recruiting a full-time (1.0 FTE) continuing Veterinarian Clinician for its Roseworthy Veterinary Hospital, based at the Roseworthy Campus. The clinician provides general practice care to small animal patients in a supportive teaching hospital, with opportunities to be involved in Emergency & Critical Care (ECC). The role reports to the Hospital Director and works alongside specialists, veterinary nurses and support staff.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high-quality GP care to small animal patients, with opportunities to take part in Emergency & Critical Care.
• Work alongside experienced specialists to manage a diverse range of cases and deliver evidence-based patient care.
• Provide real-world learning experiences for veterinary students, helping them develop the skills and knowledge to become confident veterinarians.
• Use longer consultation times to investigate complex cases thoroughly and collaborate with specialist teams.
• Contribute to service quality and continuous improvement within a multidisciplinary hospital offering Small Animal, Large Animal and Pathology services.

Required profile

• Veterinary qualification with registration or eligibility to be registered as a veterinarian in South Australia.
• Experience providing GP veterinary services for companion animals.
• High-level written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, including working effectively with a diverse range of clients and team members.
• Proven ability to contribute to service quality and continuous improvement.

• Salary range (HEO 8): $116,320 - $130,498 per annum, plus 17% superannuation and shift loadings where applicable.
