Vet Director – Emergency & Critical Care

About the role

Lead from the front as the clinical cornerstone of ARH Greater Western Sydney’s emergency service. This permanent, full‑time Vet Director role blends hands‑on emergency and critical care with senior clinical leadership, mentorship, and protocol development.

Key responsibilities

• Navigate complex ECC cases with clarity, composure and empathy.
• Coach and support veterinarians through case discussions, feedback and in‑the‑moment teaching.
• Foster a culture where psychological safety and high performance coexist.
• Develop and refine clinical protocols that reflect best practice.
• Partner with senior leadership to shape the hospital’s clinical direction and growth strategy.

Required profile

• Veterinary degree eligible for registration in New South Wales.
• 5+ years’ experience in a 24/7 emergency or specialty setting.
• Clinically assured, trusted by colleagues and passionate about teaching and mentoring.
• Self‑aware leader with clear communication, ready to stay hands‑on while leading.

Required skills

• Emergency and critical care veterinary practice.
• Clinical protocol development.
