Ventilation Engineer – Underground Mining

About the role

You will join the Underground Mining Team at Agnew Gold Mine, reporting to the Mine Ventilation Superintendent. The role focuses on optimizing ventilation demand and supply to support efficient gold extraction and maximise business value.

Key responsibilities

• Drive ventilation planning across life‑of‑mine, quarterly, weekly and monthly horizons to support production, safety and long‑term strategy.
• Lead ventilation coordination and communication, issuing instructions and direction to mining teams, contractors and graduates.
• Support continuous improvement and project delivery through ventilation projects, capital infrastructure planning and performance monitoring.
• Ensure statutory responsibilities are met, maintain accurate records and communicate updates to underground personnel.
• Carry out the legislated duties of the Ventilation Officer under Western Australia legislation.

Required profile

• Recognised tertiary degree in Engineering (Bachelor of Engineering) or equivalent qualifications under Schedule 26 of the WHS Regulations 2022.
• Valid manual driver’s licence.
• Completion of required WHS risk‑management units and the relevant legislation examination.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience using mining software such as Deswik CAD.
• Familiarity with Ventsim Design is highly regarded.
