Product Technologist

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Product Technologist to join our Wahgunyah factory, home of Nestlé Uncle Toby’s Snacks and Cereals. The role bridges marketing and manufacturing, driving new snack products and cost‑optimisation projects from concept through commercialisation while upholding Nestlé’s quality, safety and profitability standards.

Key responsibilities

• Drive new snack product development from concept to launch, collaborating with Marketing, the factory and suppliers.
• Lead and support factory trials, feasibility studies, commissioning and evaluation of results.
• Provide technical support for existing products, packaging, systems and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, nutritional and regulatory requirements (HACCP, pHACCP, labelling, trade practices).
• Identify and lead cost‑optimisation, raw‑material sourcing and recipe improvement initiatives.
• Manage specifications, BOMs, labelling and artwork approvals within SAP and related systems.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Food Science/Technology or a related field.
• 3+ years of product development experience in a food environment.
• Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
• Full Australian working rights and a passion for Nestlé’s purpose.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAP.
• Knowledge of HACCP and pHACCP systems.
• Understanding of Australian food regulations (beneficial).
