Underground Shift Supervisor (FIFO)

About the role

Barminco, part of the Perenti Group, is seeking an experienced Shift Supervisor for its underground mining operations. Reporting to the Project Manager or Mine Foreman, you will lead underground crews, coordinate daily activities and ensure work meets safety standards, company procedures and legislative requirements. The position is offered on a FIFO roster from Perth to site.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise underground mining crews to ensure safe and productive operations
• Support the Project Manager, Mine Foreman and site leadership in implementing safety systems and initiatives
• Run daily pre-starts, toolbox meetings and work planning sessions
• Monitor work quality, production targets and operational performance each shift
• Ensure compliance with legislation, site procedures, standards and critical risk controls
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure everyone understands their duty of care
• Coordinate underground activities and liaise with contractors
• Check that operators complete daily SWIC requirements and safety documentation
• Inspect the workplace, report hazards, investigate incidents and support corrective actions
• Help with workforce management, performance development, coaching and disciplinary matters
• Support site administration, production reporting and employee documentation, and keep accurate shift records

Required profile

• Previous experience as an Underground Shift Supervisor
• Minimum 5 years' underground mining operations experience, or 2 years' as a qualified Mining Engineer
• Experience managing safety, production and quality outcomes underground
• Full Australian working rights
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol screening

Required skills

• Current Underground Shift Supervisor ticket
• Valid Australian C-class driver's licence
• Working at heights ticket
• National police clearance within 6 months
• Relevant underground mining qualifications, licences and certifications
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
