Underground Mine Planning Engineer (FIFO)

About the role

Agnew, a Gold Fields subsidiary, is recruiting a Planning Engineer for its underground operations. Reporting to the Senior Engineer: Mine Planning, you will deliver short- and medium-term planning and scheduling to meet safety, production and cost targets aligned with Agnew's strategic objectives. The role is offered on an 8 days on, 6 days off FIFO roster from Perth, and is a permanent position with industry-leading benefits.

Key responsibilities

• Develop accurate short- to medium-term mine plans supporting operational objectives and life-of-mine timeframes.
• Review economic evaluations of each mine design to ensure financial objectives are met under set cut-off grades.
• Ensure mine plans account for ventilation, infrastructure, drainage and backfill needs.
• Prepare stope designs, decline, escape ways and level plan layouts, and mining instructions aligned with the mining schedule.
• Create infrastructure plans and schedules within budget constraints.
• Provide timely planning guidance for the mining department's production schedules and collaborate across departments on key projects.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of statutory safety requirements and ability to obtain the WA FCMM certificate (underground time completed).
• Strong underground engineering experience, ideally in gold.
• Manual driver's licence.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office and mining software such as Deswik CAD, Deswik Scheduler and Ventsim.
