Underground HD Fitter - USA International Operations

About the role

Barminco, part of the Perenti Group, is recruiting an experienced Underground HD Fitter for its USA International Operations in Elko, Nevada, on a 7/7 residential roster. The emphasis of the role is mentoring and coaching national trades personnel so they develop their skills and knowledge, acting as a role model while sharing experience.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled servicing of mobile equipment safely, in line with procedures, regulations and service sheets.
• Mentor, coach and develop national trades personnel.
• Use skill and experience to minimise downtime on machinery.
• Ensure maintenance is recorded and reported correctly.
• Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in workshops and work areas.
• Read and interpret service and spare parts manuals.
• Report equipment faults to the Maintenance Foreman for inclusion in weekly workshop planning.

Required profile

• At least 5 years post-apprenticeship experience in underground mining on large mobile equipment.
• Experience training less qualified tradespeople to a high standard in a high-productivity underground contracting environment.
• Strong background with modern SANDVIK, CAT and Atlas underground mobile equipment and associated automation systems.
• Good knowledge of loader and truck maintenance.
• International driver's licence.
• Must meet the minimum visa requirements for in-country work; a full pre-employment medical (including drug and alcohol testing) and site-specific clearances are required, along with a Federal Police Clearance and any required tickets or qualifications.

Required skills

• Troubleshooting electric hydraulic drilling equipment.
• Auto electrics, hydraulic circuit schematics and diesel engine maintenance.
