Underground Electrician - 8/6/7/7 FIFO

About the role

Barminco, part of the Perenti Group, is recruiting an Underground Electrician to support its underground mining operations across Western Australia. You will install, maintain and repair electrical systems so that operations run safely and reliably. The roster is 8/6/7/7 FIFO from Perth.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain and repair underground electrical systems, including power, lighting and control circuits
• Diagnose and fault-find electrical issues to minimise downtime
• Carry out routine inspections, testing and preventative maintenance on underground equipment
• Ensure all work complies with safety regulations, procedures and electrical standards
• Collaborate with supervisors and other trades on daily production and maintenance
• Complete job documentation, reports and isolation procedures accurately and on time

Required profile

• Previous experience as an electrician in an underground mining environment
• Trade qualification as an Electrician (or equivalent)
• Current electrical licence and WA electrical contractors licence number
• Ability to meet site access requirements, including medical, DAS, NPC and a valid manual driver's licence
• Proof of working rights in Australia; successful candidates must also meet pre-employment requirements such as medical assessment, drug and alcohol screening and a valid national police clearance

Required skills

• Electrical licence and WA electrical contractors licence
• High voltage switching certificate within 2 years is desirable
